255/35/18 on 18 by 9 inch wheel

Hey everyone I need new tires and the fronts I have been using were 265/35/18 and I wanted to ask if running 255/35/18 would be fine on a 18x9 FR500 wheel in the front. It will save me about 50 dollars in tire cost so it would be worth it if it makes no difference. It might be even better for rubbing issues too I think.

Let me know, thanks

Re: 255/35/18 on 18 by 9 inch wheel

when I had 18's, I used a 255/40/18 tire. It's 26 in. in diameter. The stock diameter is 25.7 in. If you were to use a 255/35/18 tire, the diameter would be 25 in. That's too small IMO

Width wise, 255 is perfect for a 9" wheel. Diameter wise, it's too small. Like mstng said, it's 7/10th an inch smaller than stock size.
