at least?...of course Scott...any real fan can tell it takes more than just one person to make a team shitty. Bonds is NOT the downfall of the Giants. The team plain sux.

BTW - I think Bonds should be in the HOF....BUT, with several ***** after his name. he WOULD NOT have the numbers he has if it wasn't for the perf. enhancers....it TRULY THAT simple.

Difference between Pujols and Bonds is that the former has always been a big, strong power-hitter. I don't think Pujols has it in him though.

Griffey JR will probably play 2-3 more seasons I'd say - unless he pulls a hammy again - and will end up short of 600 hrs.

A-Rod (while I hate him because he is a Yankee sell-out) will break the record within the next 10 years, unless he starts pulling a JR every year.

Wrong answer. Perfectly legal if you have a prescription. That's why the doctors are getting in trouble. The prescriptions are bogus not because the substance is illegal.
Baseball refused to take a stance until Congress pushed them after newspaper articles and claims starting surfacing, stating that some of the big name players were using performance enhancing substances. It is up to the sanctioning body to form it's own rules on what substances are to be banned in their (for lack of a better word) sport. There is no law that says they have to ban anything. That's what congress is threatening to do. Need I mention pro wrestling?

Um...not wrong answer...just different interpretation. It is NOT banned in AMerica and it is available through prescription....HOWEVER...these athletes are obtaining them illegally and THEY KNOW it. So, if ANY of us got an illegal prescription would we be heald accountable??....YES. JUST LIKE they should be. Guess what else, if WE were held accountable...would we still have a job?..NO. BUT, they do.

It's a big $$ profitable BS market..that's all. It's not a freakin' sport anymore. And THAT is the sad part. WE all grew admiring these people...now, they don't play the game because 7 figures isn't enough. They should be paid 8 to entertain the public that spends their hard earned $$ to watch..and now we have to accept BS responses and accountability on enhancing drugs.. BS. It's gone too far.

Re: Barry freakin' Bonds!!!

I don't really care one way or the other about the steriods issue that much, I think it's the fault of MLB that they weren't prohibited long before now. I would probably have done the same thing back in the days before they were banned, just to keep up with the others and get the big dollar contract.

The fact is that I just don't like Barry Bonds. He has cheated on his wife, he has cheated on his taxes and it appears that he cheated in baseball. Of all the major sports figures of the last twenty years he is probably easily the biggest a$$ of them all. He has screwed his family, the government, the press and fans alike. Everyone but Barry. Yes he is talented and yes he has accomplished alot on the field but what gives him the right to act like he does? I think nothing.

Re: Barry freakin' Bonds!!!

Here's an article for some of the less informed followers:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...e=hruby/060512

Add in the smaller stadiums.

Juiced baseballs.

Shorter mounds.

Better technology (IE frame-by-frame analysis of his swing after an at-bat).

Sure, all these advantages aren't considered cheating -- but it DOES say baseball has entered a new era, and record books should reflect this.

Re: Barry freakin' Bonds!!!

Having watched the replays of Bonds record homer I really wasn't upset that he beat the record. Sure I can't stand the jerk, and yes I think it's a bit tainted. But at least it is over with. What a great talent that will always be questioned throughout history.

The media should have treated the event the same way that Bonds has treated the media, that is ignore him. However, for the fans of San Francisco I'm glad it happened in their park.

Re: Barry freakin' Bonds!!!

You people are stupid. No, not ANYONE could do it w/ enhancments. Craig Biggio is one of my favorite players EVER, but all the drugs in the world wouldn't have helped him hit 755 hr's. He's not a HR HITTER, plain and simple! Barry is! Look at his swing, have you seen another swing like his in baseball? Griffey is the closest swing, and he'd be right there with Barry if it weren't for injuries. Steroids don't CREATE talent, nor do they perfectly put the bat on the ball, realize that! So all you people that "hate" Barry, just go ahead and admit it, you don't know the first thing about baseball, and knew nothing more of Barry Bonds before his scandal other than the fact that he was a professional athelete of some sort. The only people who should voice their opinions are the ones who look at the big picture of baseball itself, and who have followed Barry for MOST of his career, not just the last 2 seasons. Morons.
And hell NO I'm not a Giants fan, but have been a Bonds fan for a LONG time, for the simple fact that as a BASEBALL PLAYER, he is F'ing INCREDIBLE, period. End of story.

I agree, I think Bonds is done after this season. Hopefully he doesn't go to the American League and DH to pad his numbers, like other players have. I give him credit for continuing to play the field while chasing Aaron. He could have very easily past 756 awhile ago as a DH.

Indicted for what, not illegally using steriods? If he used steriods, he wasn't breaking any laws. Can anyone name a steriod law that was broken at the time? I'm tired of our government performing investigations on non-crimes and then charging people with committing perjury during the investigation or continuing to dig into someone's private life without just cause just so they can charge them with something. Clinton, Libby, Bonds and the list goes on and on. It's called the politics of personal destruction and if they can do it to him, they can do it to you. This is especially disgusting when we have real problems to deal with in this country. We are at war with an enemy who has sworn to kill all of us and we are wasting time on this crap.

Not to mention the fact that everyone else in baseball, cycling, football, wrestling, hockey, every Olympic sport (except maybe synchronized swimming) and basketball was using undectable steriods at that time. Why single him out? Hell, I want all professional athletes to juice. I want to see 1000 yard home runs, I want to see them run the bases in two seconds flat. And if it ruins their lives later, who cares, its their choice and not my problem.

They sure will, which is wrong, because until he sells it, it's not earned income, only potential income. As of right now, it's just a $14 baseball, and they don't tax you for being in possession of a baseball. When he sells it, it's a collectible.

I've taken some tax courses in college and tbh I don't see how they can legally tax personal property that has no realized value yet, maybe at sale...but as an investment he paid nothing for and has no established value h3ll no! I know if I caught a fricken baseball and sold it, no government on earth would get a red cent!

I guess I should start paying more taxes because my Barry Bonds ROokie card went up $20??

A-Rod is going to smash Bonds record at the pace he is going. He is also going do it in a lot less seasons than Bonds.

Thats weak that there gonna tax him on that ball even if he hasn't sold it. Ive never heard of that. What if a ten year old kid had caught it. How the hell would he pay the taxes?
