Clutch and flywheel

I was thinking of upgrading my clutch and flywheel before my header install just to prevent future replacement.

What clutch kits have you guys liked? I've looked at Centerforce, RAM, SPEC, ACT, and Fidanza... Anyone have anything good or negative to say about these?

Also I was debating going with an aluminum billet flywheel. Any reason why I shouldn't? Also brand on the flywheel as well....

Thanks

Re: Clutch and flywheel

I like the dual friction centerforce. I'd stay away from an aluminum flywheel if your drag racing. Talk to Roy on this site. He's gone 10.5's with the stock flywheel and a centerforce pressure plate and a zoom 6 puck disc. You'd want to keep rotating mass when drag racing, aluminum flywheels could hurt you 1/4 mile times, they might make your car wanna bog out when launching it.

Re: Clutch and flywheel

I've got a centerforce billet steel flywheel for sale if you decide that is the route you want to go.

EDIT: And for the clutch, I have run 2 centerforce dual friction clutches and I really liked them.

Re: Clutch and flywheel

Matching the disc and pressure plate is the way to go. If you talk to Roy, I beleive the only reason he went to the zoom disc was out of sheer neccesity. But you can't argue with his E.T.'s with a HUGE shot of spray
