Re: Catted x pipe for boost
I was just talking about the cats since you said you had been swapping out cats. I'm pretty sure kooks sells some high flow cats that can handle boost. If you want a whole new x then I'd get a magnaflow catted x.

Ok thanks I'll check them out. If I get cats I'm gonna have to get them welded in by the time I pay for cats and labor I can just buy new x pipe and bolt it in myself will cost about the same.

Re: Catted x pipe for boost
You might want to check your tune. Perhaps the safety features for keeping the cats cool are shut off or too high of a temp. Once the cats get hot the computer is supposed to richen the air fuel in order to keep it at a safe operating temp.

Re: Catted x pipe for boost
How would the computer know what temp the cats are. Downstream 02's ?

Re: Catted x pipe for boost
Have a d1 procharger. Tune is fine problem was I replaced the old cats with flowmaster cats 2 mos ago car started running a little crappy not as smooth I thought it was bad gas since all else looked fine then I called to order the same cats for a 70 Torino and was told they been having issues with those then was told they're not designed for boosted or nitrous cars even states on Flowmasters site.

Re: Catted x pipe for boost
I'd run cats from a 2013-2014 GT500.
You can datalog cat temp, I just don't know which o2 sensor it comes from. I've always been catless so I've never needed to do so. As you lean it out the exhaust gases get hotter. Boost generates more exhaust gases. Can't run a cat that was made to withstand one temperature and pressure, then use it in an application that exceeds the conditions it was ever designed for.
