Question about front caliper specs
When i purchased the car, the previous owner put 11' rotors on the front. Looking at the calipers, I can tell that they are the same size as the back. I would like to upgrade my front brakes but I am not sure if I also need new calipers. Every site ive been to seems to list the front and read calipers as the same size. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Re: Question about front caliper specs
What? Sorry but it's hard to understand exactly what you're asking...
The stock front calipers are dual piston, rear is single. The calipers at that link look like stock front calipers off a Cobra. The Mach came with the same calipers minus saying Cobra on them. They're PBR calipers.

Re: Question about front caliper specs
Sorry for the confusion. Basically the previous owner took the stock brakes off the car and replaced them with smaller brakes and rotors. I would like to get the OEM calipers but Fords wants to charge me almost $600. I was looking for a more cost effective replacement in the $400 range for the calipers. I already have the rotors.
The site specified above appears to be much cheaper than any other site I have come across however one of the problems I have seen is that since the GT brakes fit the Mach 1, they sometimes advertise them as Mach 1 and Cobra brakes. I just dont want to buy the wrong products. Thanks in advance for your assistance. |

Re: Question about front caliper specs
Ok, I understand now. The pricing for these brakes is weird, I have watched the price fluctuate by $100s over the past 5 years for some reason. And lately they have been hard to find at all. But you may be in luck, here you go for $249, brand new OEM http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/pr...id=689&cPath=6
Also looks like autozone has some remanufactured ones, but pricey compared to the brand new ones. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...897418_0_5913_

Re: Question about front caliper specs
Yeah I saw those. The black ones were in horrible shape and have been listed for over 3 months (at least thats when I first saw them). I ended up ordering the Bullet set that R.Shackleford posted.
Thanks guys. |
