Re: How to: Install 1/2" intake spacer

Are there any clearance issues with the shaker shroud hitting the hood or the hood trim after you raise it using one of these spacers? Thanks.

I got a 7/8 on and it barley rubs. Not enough to even worry about.

Re: How to: Install 1/2" intake spacer

Quick question.. Just finished installing the 1/2'' and it idles a bit rough, almost like mild cams, It also seems to be doing the hanging rpms and then drops down to idle around 1,000-1,100, I did set my idle up when i first got the predator handheld for roughly 900rpm. But it will fluctuate, and it almost died once, like it was at 1,1xxrpm, then dropped to 500rpm and was shakin the car like cams would. Gave it a little gas, rpms hung again, but settled back down to 1000. Didnt drop to 500rpm again, but still the rpms hung on the test drive. Also seems like a hiss next to the egr valve. And for some reason, any way i tried ( i was litterally kneeling on the engine bay of the car, i could not get the EGR with the side closest to the firewall directly lined up. Seems like the bolt went in sideways and possibly threaded wrong, Bolt itsnt all the way in, but the EGR was on tight with th otherone closest to the front of the car. I even losend the intake manifold bolts to try and lift it up to align it. No such luck.. Ideas, comments, anything... help.

Re: How to: Install 1/2" intake spacer

You are supposed to pull up on the EGR tube with a prybar and line it up. otherwise it will cross thread and have an air leak.

Maybe im missing it, but i used the tire iron, but couldnt get it fixed to use it for prying. is the handle(where it bends) sapossed to be facing in towards the fire wall? Or is the tip where the lugs go into sapposed to be on the firewall?

Re: How to: Install 1/2" intake spacer

me and my friend did mine last week, we didnt even completely unbolt the egr from the lid, just backed out the 2 bolts holding it a bit and it gave us enough room to get the spacer in, didnt even have to replace the gasket

Re: How to: Install 1/2" intake spacer

So far for some reason, im having a rough install, As I was finishing up today, I apparently had the EGR valve bolt going in off the thread, then i snapped that bolts head off from over tightening by accident, and then i was tightening the manifold bolt( the one that is used to hold the throttle cable holder) and snapped that head off too. sonofabitch! Now awaiting bolts, hopefully i can find them easily, but also hoping that the EGR valve bolt hole will take the new bolt...

i have been wondering the same thing

i just got done installing mine about an hour ago. didnt have any issues at all. i put the 1/2" spacer on...i can offer this advice though...when you pry up on the egr tube put the bolt closest to the fire wall in first. i did it the other way around the first time and it would not work so well. so i took the bolt out and tried putting the bolt in closest to the firewall and everything went together like it was supposed to...i didnt even pry on it i just pulled up on it with one hand and threaded it in with the other hand..simple as that. car runs great, no lights, no weird sounds.

one more thing: sticky sticky sticky!!!!

Send me your rear shaker bracket. I'll machine it (foe fwee) and the 7/8 will sit just like a 1/2" spacer.

Anyone know where to get the bolts and washers needed for a 3/4" spacer. Just purchased the spacer without the bolts and washers. I keep seeing "Roy" as a source. Is that a person? An online store?
