F1A cog project

Just finished recently with motor install with drivetrain. It will resemble Linumups setup for those who have seen his car.

RECAP:
2004 Mach 1.

Teksid block stroked 4.6-built by John Tymensky at MPperformance
3.80 kellogg crank
5.85 rods
custom Diamond piston-9:5.1 compression

03 Maurader Heads-
Livernois CNC'd-
Fox Lake-anodized 9 thread inserts
.5mm Oversized valves
Custom Cams (BIG)-spec'd by John-

Custom short runner intake by ROY

Kooks 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 to 3" (fit worth a sh!t)

Full return fuel system-
80lb injectors
glenns tank
3 walbros external pumps
-10 out -8 back

t-56 magnum 2.97 first gear
FRPP alum flywheel
4.10 gear
RST twin disk

FIA procharger with ATI sprag super pulley
ATI 6 rib dampner 80 tooth lower-
HOB renegade bracket-
I did have to switch to a 96-98 cobra front cover due to the renegade bracket was designed around the cover and had switch back to 6 rib. I will take pics as I get further into it.

I pulled off my stock front cover yesterday evening and swapped to the 96-98 cover. Installing ATI balancer tomorrow. will get pics as i go along.

Re: F1A cog project

Good build right there. Sounds like linumup part deux LOL

One question... with that intake and big cams, are you doing anything with the computer? I know most Mach computers (including mine) have trouble running above 7k.

not sure YET...I guess once I get there i will make the decision. Lidio (alternative auto) said to leave the computer stuff to him and IF we need to change we will do it at that time. I trust him with any tuning issues. I am sure ROY can chime in. Hopefully he can get the stock computer stuff to work...but if not standalone will happen.

Re: F1A cog project

With the return fuel system you should be OK. They just did 870 on a Cobra with factory ECU. I think Lid said the he could make 1000 with the EEC-5 stuff.

Re: F1A cog project

few update photos...
installed new 96-98 front timing cover. installed ati super pulley on procharger. Installed new ATI balancer (lost my 35Torq bit so finish..naturally)
installed Phil's ABS delete block..made a few changes with it since iam installing my line lock in same location and had to order some fittings from jegs to make it work. no biggie but I will post that up when those arrive.
routed fuel lines and found out I need more fittings...( who would have thought..lol)...
started getting brakes put together too....and had to order some brake line clips. For some reason when I told my stockers off...I dont know where I put them

You make a TON of power with the stock ECU as long as it's below 7000 RPM's. After that is where the problems arise. That's why I was asking about that with his choice in intake and cams.

Whats your spark plug gap? At 26 pounds it should be .016-.018.

Re: F1A cog project

more parts arrived last night from Jegs...fittings and what not. Ordered crank support bearing and mandrel from ATFspeed.com. Wil be working with ROY to help make a crank support since I will be a stick car and having a lot of stress on the crank without support isnt good.

.020 I believe. I'll know for sure the next time I put it on the dyno and we adjust them again. That won't be any time soon because I'm broke again LOL.

Re: F1A cog project

well...LET the issues from procharger BEGIN....like I said i recieved package yesterday and going over everything listed on invoice compared to what they sent me. SOOO...the invoice states 1-.40" spacer and 5- 1.00" spacers....NOPE...that isnt what I got...I got 5-.40" spacers and only 1 -1.00" spacer...SOOOO another thing to call procharger for Monday.

BTW..went out to Milan Dragway this morning to watch NMRA but rain ruined it for the day...we ended up leaving after 3 hours of on and off rain. DID see some custom setups for radiator and hose ends...

Re: F1A cog project

WOW....procharger dropped the ball again and sent the wrong parts. Bad thing is I get home after 6pm and they close at 530...so checking packages and NOT getting what you paid for is frustrating to say the least!

Re: F1A cog project

update: spoke with Procharger again this morning and LOOKS like House of Boost NEVER ordered the right part from them in the first place...so they are sending me the correct one overnight...Procharger has actually been decent to work with....

Re: F1A cog project

Funny how HOB and Procharger can't communicate back and forth considering they are pretty much in each others back yard. Which parts did they not send you? I know you had spacers that were incorrect, did they mess those up again?
