cobra r front bumper?
I'm thinking about gettin rid of my 01 cobra front bumper cover and replacing it with a 00 Cobra R front bumper. I'm going to have it painted like my 01 bumper cover: dsg, black out the grill delete area and the mouth opening. I'll probably also have the air splitter painted black, i think it will look good. Any thoughts??????? Hows the fitment? Will it be too low for daily street driving?
this is what my car looks like right now http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...t=finally+pics

Re: cobra r front bumper?
I vote no, especially with the roads out here. Plus I just don't like the way that bumper looks on anything other than an R.

Re: cobra r front bumper?
If you do go with the R bumper and are getting rid of the current one, I'd like first dibs on it since it's the right color for mine.

Re: cobra r front bumper?
I would just buy the actually Cobra R splitter for your bumper. On the actual Cobra R, the splitter is just attached to a 99/01 Cobra bumper. It may be a bit expensive, but you could always remove it if needed.

Re: cobra r front bumper?
I'd have to agree with Jmac here. Just buy the splitter from FRPP. It attaches to the 99-01 cobra front with Dzus fasteners, 4 or 6 of them I believe. The real Cobra R front was just a 99 front with the splitter on it. This way if you put it on and its too low, you can easily go back and wont lose the lip to a curb, you can leave it off and then put it on for shows. I like the look of the real Cobra R front but find the remakes with the lip moulded in to be just plain tacky.

Re: cobra r front bumper?
where could i get the splitter? I noticed that its just an 01 bumper with a splitter, but i thought it was part of a mold. Didnt know it was a two peice bumper cover

Re: cobra r front bumper?
Looking up the FRPP number right now. Here are a few pics of the front to show the Dzus fasteners, thanks to www.TheMustangSource.com.
