Tranny fluid Q

Hello, about a year and a half ago i decided to change my 5-speed fluid and add the correct amount to try and fix the 2-3 shift. I used royal purple and a thing of lucas tranny fix stuff.

Now i want to get rid of the royal purple and get use maybe some amsoil or something else, not sure yet. My question is; should i pour another quart of lucas tranny fix in it again this time?

The shifting problem didn't go away the first time but its much better than before. I'm not really trying to get better results but I learned a bit about royal purple since the oil change and would prefer it if my car didn't have any anywhere.
Suggestions?

Psst, I'm talking from real world experience, not from reading info off a website. Try it sometime.

Your real world experience will lead you to this...

http://www.stangnet.com/images/stori...s/04-15-06.pdf

I highly suggest hanging onto a copy because your real world experience will need fixing pretty soon.

Ford screwed up and put in synthetics on half of the TR3650 transmissions that came from detroit. The other half got the correct fluid. (MERCON/DEXRON III).

That TSB above is a correction to Ford's screwup (They should've listened to what Tremec had to say)

Now, those that got the synthetics have all experienced a synchro problem. (If you haven't experienced it, you WILL...just hold onto your "synthetics guns" and hold tight...and save up some money while you do so)

btw...

READ section # 6

XT-2-QDX is MERCON/DEXRON III
