What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
Well I have done a few mods and have done my best to dyno after each mod or group of mods to see what the gains were and my last dyno put me at 301 rwhp and 319 rwtq.
Bone Stock = 266 hp Bassani SS Offroad X-Pipe and Catback K&N Air Filter (Drop In) = 283 hp SCT Custom Chip = 292 hp PHP Intake Spacer and JLT RAI = 301 hp Also noteworthy, its not all about the peak HP/TQ, on the curve there are some areas of significant gain from mod to mod. I just thought this might help some of you who might be questioning as I did what mods make the most difference. By far the exhaust/K&N was the single largest gain so far. Like many of you I hate spending money on stuff that doesn't help the car, or causes a loss in power. What a waste.

Something I forgot to say, before the dyno with the chip, I put Bassani High Flow CATS into the x-pipe....
So the #'s with chip and JLT RAI and PHP Intake Spacer are with Bassani CATS. I am comtemplating taking the cats back out.

Hey guys I ran it last night (Friday) and pulled 13.09 w/ 2.08 60 ft. so I'm real close to pulling a 12 with a hair off the 60 ft.
I think I'm gonna give the car a rest and take out my other toy, the jet ski this weekend. TheBlkMach1, where are you dynoing your car? I wonder if there is a variation in dyno's. Do you guys think headers and pulley's will yield an additional 25 hp? Anyway take care everyone!!

Good run southbeachmach1, you're almost there. My cars getting worked on and dyno'd at Razor's Edge Performance. I'm sure there will be variations in the dyno, especially since my first dyno was done in STD and this one is in SAE.

Benefold, your lucky or you have a dyno that's off. Did you do a baseline dyno first to see what your's did stock? Some cars pull 280+ out of the box... very lucky
Mine was 266 corrected when tested on a dyno at 5000' when I used to live in Albuquerque. I have heard the magnaflow cat back might be yielding a little more power than Bassani, had I known, I would have gone magnaflow catback. I wonder if I can buy the magnaflow mufflers and mount them in the bassani cat back.

Well unless my dyno is reading low. It definitley took a few extra parts to get my car pushing 301 on that dyno at SRC. I think its a good idea to use the same dyno each time though. Regardless of whether its low or high, at least you know what your static gains are in general. Maybe I am pushing more power, because look at my track #'s, If I can get my launch under 2.0, I'm an easy 12.8 - 12.9. What do you guys think?
I have heard alot guys around 300 still are having trouble breaking 13.3, so maybe I am pushing more. Maybe I should try the dyno at Razor's edge out just to see. How much do they charge?

Razor's Edge is, i believe something like $150 an hour. Not too sure though. My friend said he saw the rate fee posted on the wall.

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
southbeachmach1, i see those are STD numbers (in your sig). most people go by SAE numbers
I'm at 296/315 sae, 302/321 std, so like me, you're about 5 hp short of 300 :p my mods are JLT cai, mac prochamber and a chip. stock catback/headers.

Re: What to do to get 300 rwhp on a Mach 1
Yeah SAE is like 293
For the same run, my uncorrected is actually 299 and it was a pretty average South Florida day....humidity and warm - it was mid summer. Interesting how your turning that much w/o the intake spacer and no-catback/mufflers... What was your baseline stock? I started from like 267 (SAE)
