hey guys, finally got around to installing my new brakes: rotorpros drilled/slotted rotors, pads and ss brake lines. car stops on a dime now, HUGE improvement over how it was previously.

oh yea, go the whole setup for $320 shipped from Richard at rotorpros, give him a call, let him know Jupiter sent you.

Just don't try to run those rotors on a road course.

pushed hard enough, theyll likely crack. Cross drilled works when the holes are cast not so well when they are drilled after the fact from my understanding.

my car is a daily driver, it sees the quarter mile once, maybe twice a year so i think i might be ok.
its wierd that you guys are talking about them cracking because i had a dream last night that both rear rotors had cracked overnight from the cold, LOL.

OK, thanks I thought you were referring to the manufacturer...
I got mine from them but mine are dimpled and not drilled all the way through.

I got my CD/S rotors from them almost a year ago.... Love them. Huge improvement over stock.

I bought some of the slotted Centric rotors from Rotorpros for track use because they were cheap and Rotorpros told me about all the people that use them on track.Well one of them almost broke in half after 2 track sessions.Luckily it broke on the warm up lap during session three.They sent me a new pair per their warranty and indicated that they had just gotten a similar call from a 350Z owner so I now use the Centrics as my street rotors and buy OEM Brembos for the track.The Centrics look good and are fine for the street.A little research indicated that the mfgs in China put out for bid the raw materials and there is a wide variance in quality of material so the end product varies greatly in quality as they are only concerned with price.

when i looked before buying the biggest thing i saw was the lightning guys complaining about drilled ones cracking

Any rotor by any maker can crack ,slotted ,drilled, dimpled,solid ,vented or not. If used on a track they should have air ducts to cool them. If the rotors still crack then the brakes are too small for the weight of the race car. Drag race brakes are ment for the 1/4 mile not street or road courses . Brembo rotors seem to be the best ones I have used on 5 different Mustangs.

Like I said the quality can vary greatly from batch to batch.Mine didn't just crack it almost broke in half.The cracks were big enough to stuff a ham sandwich in them.It cracked from the center all the way to the edge and through both sides and the cooling fins.Going from the center in the other direction it cracked all the way to the edge on one side and within an inch of the edge on the other side.

I've had slotted rotorpros on my car for about a 2 years and over 15k miles or so. Haven't had any issues so far. Most of my driving is on the Autobahn where I repeatedly go from about 130 down to about 70 mph and back again due to slow cars pulling into the fast lane to pass even slower trucks. They always wait until your right on them to pull out. Keeps you awake. I'm on my second set of pads but the rotors seem ok. No cracking or rusting.

i installed the brakes last sunday, so its been a week since they've been on the car and already i am hearing noise from the rear brakes. its not squeaking but it is more like a grinding/crunching noise. it goes away when i press on the brake pedal. i installed a new hardware kit on the back pads (anti-rattle clips and accordian boot).what could be causing this noise? i did not put any of that grease on the back of the pads and the rear driver side wheel and axle seem to move in and out when the car is up in the air, is this normal?
