HELP...Lost wheel lock

Lost wheel lock and don't have the wheel lock number. Dealer couldn't help me so I'm stuck riding around on drag radials. Suggestions please!

Did you register the key when you bought? Try an other dealership, had one help me once. Try other keys...believe it or not...its easy to have your bestest bud have the same **** key.-Shane

Bought it used, didn't register the key. Never done that actually. I'll try another dealer tomorrow. Thanks.

Re: HELP...Lost wheel lock

If it is a factory lock, McGuard, a wheel lock manufacturer can match a duplicate key for you. Contact them first and take a clear digital closeup photo or two and send the file.
I did this when I misplaced the key, had a road trip and had to purchase another one. It costs but was way cheaper than a dealer. Now I have two.

Do this, $15 shipped to your house for a new socket.

Re: HELP...Lost wheel lock

I lost one once an just welded a big steel nut on the end. Then I was able to remove it very easily.

Just remember to protect your wheels!!!

Re: HELP...Lost wheel lock

19mm deep-well 12-point socket and some tapping with a hammer, it'll come right off using a ratchet...no fancy tools required....

Re: HELP...Lost wheel lock

Ghetto way of doing it:

Find a socket just big enough to fit around the lock nut. Look at the shape of the lock nut and place little pins (like you would use to hang a small picture) in the socket. You can tape them in place inside the socket too if there are several sides you need to do this to. Put the socket on the lug nut and turn it. I'm ashamed to say I've done this once or twice when I used to use lock nuts and it worked just fine.
