How much to forge the engine?
I am considering supercharging my Mach. How much would it cost to forge it. What do I need, just a new crank and rods? Is it worth it or should I just stay at around 430 hp?

Re: How much to forge the engine?
about 4k if you shop smart....(that's assembled, atleast thats what i have come up with when i was shopping around.)
Look for a short block already built....might save time and money. |

Re: How much to forge the engine?
The crank is already forged in the 5 speed cars. In the autos, it's probably still not necessary to add a forged crank unless you'll be making a lot of horsepower. You'll need to replace the rods and pistons. It's probably a good time to do a few other things, too, such as the head cooling mod, etc.

Re: How much to forge the engine?
I have been working on cars since I was a little boy and my father is an ASE tech with 40+ years exp. I think we have it covered
I just do not see any reason to throw away money to let someone do something that I can do myself.
