automatic trans question

i just picked up my 03 mach with auto transmission, and it drives fine for awhile then it shifts out of overdrive and the over drive light starts flashing and it wont shift back into overdrive until i stop and shut the car off. It has a 90 day warranty on it and was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and what it could be, i talked to a buddy today and he said that its most likely a worn out clutch pack that wont shift in. Any other suggestions?

Re: automatic trans question

First thing is get it back to them before warrenty is out. I would say the OD is shot. It only takes a few WOT runs in OD to fry the OD.

Re: automatic trans question

im thinking the same, cause i told them about it when i test drove it and they said it was a faulty wire which i thought was bs to begin with. Called them before i went to pick it up and said they fixed it due to a faulty wire. But Im gonna be all over it tomorrow with the dealer
