Stock Headunit not turning on

I recently installed a minor sound system in my Mach. I am using the stock (04) Mach 460 headunit, stock speakers/ tweeters on the inside, a rockford amp and 2 P1 Subwoofers with a converter. I wired everything correctly and it played great. When i took out the subs and amp along with the box the day before I went to an autocross race, I wrapped everything in electrical tape to ensure no accidental crossig of the positive and negative wires. During the race, i had music playing and it was just the stock system which is correct and what its supossed to do. But after a couple laps, i went to turn my car on and get ready for another set of races. I saw that the headunit wasn't on and didn't turn on at all. No power at all, no clock. Nothing. Yesterday i took it out and unplugged and re- plugged it all. I also have a ipod auxiliary input device and checked that as well. It turned on for maybe 3 seconds when i shifted it a bit and re installed it. Then cut right out again. At night time when i was driving, and had my headlights on, the radio lights came on no problem. NOT the radio its self, just the lights that would go on with the headlight switch. And the windshield supers don't work, and neither does the wiped fluid sprayer.

What I checked:
. Fuse #27
.Loose wires
.Battery terminals

What im also going to check:
.Fuse 26, 32
.Relay 2, 3

Any other suggestions/ thoughts?

It sounds like loose wiring.... I know you said you checked it all, but I recommend soldering your connections and checking for any accidental wiring mess ups.

Re: Stock Headunit not turning on

The remote wire is only to tell the amp to turn on, so that shouldn't be your problem. By the information given, unless I am reading it wrong. The amp is powering only your subwoofer right?

I would look for a bad ground first.

When installing car audio it is always wise, to solder any wires spliced into.. Butconnectors are BAD.

It almost sounds as if you spliced into the wrong power wire, and could have caused that system's fuse to blow.

Re: Stock Headunit not turning on

Im almost 100% positive that the aftermarket subs and amp isn't the problem. Everything has been working fine for the past week.
