I was not messing with you. Those are nice numbers for your mods. I'd like to see what you would do with a 1/2" spacer and a straight through 2.5" catback.

Re: Intake by NA SVT

thanks man yeah i would like to see it too. I really dont know if the 1/2 inch would be any better, i mean its just 1/8th of an inch more which is nothing. The catback may help some, i prob will do long tubes and 98 intake cams this summer and im going to home port an intake and hopefully hit 350..

Re: Intake by NA SVT

Pics of a completed intake show nothing but a clean, shiny piece of aluminum. The important stuff is in the power it makes. With that, it's too bad this won't get dyno'd for few months because I'm interested in seeing how a short unner performs on a Mach with 96-98 coba cams.

I have a bolt-on mach lined up for some testing, we're going to do back to back testting of 3 intakes that have different runner lengths and plenum volumes. After that is done I may try to talk him into some cobra cams and do it all again.

Re: Intake by NA SVT

Yeah I am thinking the combo with the 98 intake cams will work well. And I have had some experience porting some 5.0 intakes and heads so Ive got a spare 4v intake to practice on!

I've been laid off work a lot, so I haven't had the cash to redyno. The family comes first, so the car has to wait until things pick back up.

Did you just dyno, or did you retune and dyno?

retune and dyno...... dynoed 323 with all my bolt ons first dyno with the ported intake was 308! they bumped up the timing and the most he could get out of it was 321.... but it was was pouring down rain the whole 2.5 hours down to the shop and the humidity was 60 percent but u would think i would have gained atleast 1 hp.....

Temp. & Humidity can make a big diffrence, you can dyno the same car on the same dyno on two diffrent days and see 5hp diffrence. 2-3hp I couldnt even justify worring about. Redyno it on a 60 degree day with no humidity if you really want every last hp on paper.

See what the car runs. That is what will tell you if there was a difference. Dyno numbers are fun and exciting but what the car runs is what matters. Any track numbers before the intake?

I agree completely. I too will be dyno and dragstrip pass back to back. Roys in the process of doing my intake and just finished the 98 cam install. I know my ET's were consistent 12.5/12.6 at 108-109mph. Interested to see what itll do when its done.

Re: Intake by NA SVT

Got my cams and ported intake put together finally with a 7/8" spacer and a homemade 4inch RAI (I copied the JLT), Waiting to get the nod from my tuner to bring it in. I roadtested it today and felt strong up top, but it has flatspots, the tune should correct this.

Re: Intake by NA SVT

@ PC Pro:

Wish you the best with the 96 cams they are making some decent power. Here is some info we just got!

Just off the dyno:

03 Mach 1 Motor (standard bolt-on) + 96-98 Cobra intake cams STOCK INTAKE.

After Dyno tune: 334RWHP @ ~6150RPM (peak) (287RWHP by 6800RPM)

Swap stock intake with Nazty Performance Ported Short Runner:

New Peak: 351RWHP@ ~6625RPMs (which I belive may be a new record) (making over 10RWHP/TQ sooner by 5000RPM than old peak) and a SICK 46+RWHP gain by 6800RPM and power was flat as hell with no sign of dropping off by 7100RPM!!!!!

Timing at a "mild" 23 deg!!!!

Looking foward to your data!

Naz

Hi Naz,

Is that the Mach motor that you put in your cobra?

No. One of my customers.

2003 Mach 1
BBK LTs (may not be optimal for combo)
STOCK Trottle Body
Mid-Pipe
Cat Back
NO Pullies
4.30 Gears
STOCK Water Pump
AL Flywheel
STOCK DS
STOCK Damper, MAF, Injectors, No spacer

So....there may be a few more HP with pullies, Electric Water Pump and more timing!!!

We have seen best power/TQ numbers at a little higher timing and commanded AF numbers.

Re: Intake by NA SVT

Great numbers! Are the cams installed straight up or advanced?

The hydroboost went out on my car, and I just got it back last week. I just installed an aluminum flywheel and picked up a set of mod camponents gears, I will hopefully be hooking up with Todd shortly to advance the cams and redyno.

Re: Intake by NA SVT

Cams were not degreed.

The motor on my car has a Mach 1 motor, with all and I mean all the bolt-ons and 96-98 cams.

Will add a Nazty PSR and will dyno....I did degree my cams and the tune is a "little more agressive!" should out perform those!

Numbers coming soon!

Insane numbers! We have a new bolt on champion on the horsepower list!

Why so conservative on the timing?
