Acceleration having a little problems.

My mach seems to be having a technical problem. I think i either have a spark problem or a fuel problem. It just started getting hot here in myrtle beach, and i have been noticing my car is doing something strange. When i step floor my car, it seems to be like, dying. During acceleration, it starts popping really fast, and barely goes anywhere, then all of a sudden it kicks in, and goes about 1500rpms faster, then starts popping again really fast, then goes again for another 1500rpms or so. but, i can sit in a parking lot and rev it up with out a problem. But at night, when its cool out, i dont have a problem at all. Any help with this can be awesome, and ask me any questions you need to know. Thanks guys

Have you tried with the traction control off?

how many miles on it? Might change the fuel filter it being the cheapest. You can look at your spark plugs for free to see if they are fouled out. Might want to consider changing those. Do you have a MIL on? Check all your vacuum hoses as well. Hope this helps.

Re: Acceleration having a little problems.

I think I'm having a version of the same problem. I've replaced the fuel filter, changed the spark plugs, and cleaned the air filter; it's better, but it ain't gone. No codes in the computer; the MIL is not on.

Did you ever figure out what it was?

Sounds like it could be the the fuel rail pressure sensor.

Re: Acceleration having a little problems.

We just changed the fuel rail pressure sensor on my buddy's cobra and fixed the exact same problem. He was a happy camper for this simple solution.

Re: Acceleration having a little problems.

Hey Fubars and DRBoyd, did you guys have any luck with the fuel rail pressure sensor replacement?! My Mach is having the same stuttering/popping case under 1/2 to full throttle. Changed spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter and its at 39k right now. Just really starting to bum me out so I'm hoping you guys had some luck with the sensor, i'd definitely give it a try if I hear of some positive results from it

Re: Acceleration having a little problems.

How much is the part and how difficult is it to change?
