Sounds good, but do yourself a favor and do NOT make it a New Year's resolution! People rarely, if ever, stick to them and always claim they'll start all over "next year." Make it an attainable goal that you can start NOW! Why wait, it's just an excuse to give in and do a little extra drinking! Good luck man and I wish you the best!

Re: Breaking away from soda pop
well, like the thread title states, im breaking away from soda pop. i have an extensive history of adult onset diabetes in my family, and i guess now's the time to try and limit that. (only took me 21 years to get my arse moving lol)
ive been stepping down my soda intake all week, and tonight is my last soda. at midnight, i'll be soda free. i used to do it for lent when i was younger, so i KNOW i can pull this off. i've got the police academy coming up in february, so amping up my water consumption and decreasing my caffeine/unneeded sugar will only help me. I'll find another way to work thru my current night shifts until then. i kicked energy drinks this past summer with no problem, so i dont have to worry about that. now i just gotta stop eating so much **** candy! wish me luck! |

Re: Breaking away from soda pop
I'm gonna reread "Younger Next Year" and see if this time I can stick with it longer than 13 months. It was the perfect plan for someone approaching retirement age.

Re: Breaking away from soda pop
Ok, now that i have stopped my Pepsi habit as of two weeks ago i now have constant gas! Jesus, all day freaking long at work, like every five to ten minutes i'm worried about if i can get away for a few seconds to relieve the pressure build up. Even when i do i gotta do it a little at a time or i'll blow a hole clean through my shorts! At home, the five year old doesn't seem to mind too much. She just laughs.
