Re: best sounding long tube headers?!!!!!!

h pipe vs xpipe along with your catback is gonna have more of an affect on how it sounds.

Re: best sounding long tube headers?!!!!!!

NASCAR sound = H pipe
Indycar sound=X pipe

Headers don't matter much if good quality.

Re: best sounding long tube headers?!!!!!!

so should i stick with the H pipe and order long tube headers OR get the X pipe and skip the headers all together and pick up another mod?
im looking for a nice clean sound, if i dont pick up the HP there i can make it up elsewhere

Re: best sounding long tube headers?!!!!!!

its all your call.

do you have the LM1's or 2's?

if you have 1's i dont know why you say you dont want raspy as the lm'1s are the raspiest muffler out of all the common setups people use.

Re: best sounding long tube headers?!!!!!!

I just installed Kooks LT and Catted X and I love it, waiting on Ultra flow catback. currently have 2 chamber flows on it now and its not raspy at all. Loud as hell when i get on it but no rasp.

Kooks all the way but you are going to pay for what you get, best fit and no longtube removal when clutch needs to be replaced.

Yes as with any longtube you'll have to use their matching midpipe. Here's my setup, Kooks longtubes with their x-pipe and Bassani catback.

Sweet I thought Kooks used the slip fit connectors instead of the ball flange that sells me on them..

Which 2 chamber flows?? I just installed Kooks LT's and a Catted X, but with Borla Stingers and its loud and raspy.

Any videos by any chance? I switched from Super 44's when I put the headers on so I have never heard the 2 chambers with Kooks. I thought about putting the 44s back on just to see how it sounds

I bet it would sound nasty. You should do it and make a video. That combo is unexplored.

Re: best sounding long tube headers?!!!!!!

I'm running Stainless Works headers. I built my own x-pipe and exhaust using 3" tubing from Burns stainless and Borla XR1 mufflers. I basically copied the Stainless works Xpipe, but adjust some of the bends to get it to sit higher under the car. You can use whatever X/H mid pipe you want with whatever headers you want, just be prepared to do a little custom fitting if they aren't matched or just build your own exhaust.

I'll be switching out the Stainless Works for ARH 1 3/4" x 3.5" headers sometime next year when I finish building the new motor.
