East Coast Guys, be safe!

As most of you know, I live in La. and have endured a number of hurricanes. I beg those of you on the East Coast, especially those near the coast to take this hurricane (Earl) seriously. This could be nothing, but it could be very bad as it is strengthening and potentially very dangerous. Be wary, and be ready to either leave (head west...anywhere) of ride out the worst for an extended period of time. There is nothing fun about these things.
Good luck and God Bless.

I think I 'll hang around. I heard it takes 100 MPH winds to lift the Mach and they predicted only 99 MPH. so I'm safe.

My amazing government hasn't learned from Isabel, and have waited until the last possible moment to say anything. Trying to squeeze every last penny they can out of the tourists.

They'll wait until the storm gets here before they cancel my vacation that's supposed to start Saturday.

Relax John.

Apache spokesman Bob Dye said the platform is in shallow water. A company report said the well was drilled in the third quarter of 2008 in 340 feet of water.

Responding to an oil spill in shallow water is much easier than in deep water, where crews depend on remote-operated vehicles access equipment on the sea floor.

The platform is about 200 miles west of BP's blown out Macondo well. On Friday, BP was expected to begin the process of removing the cap and failed blowout preventer, another step toward completion of a relief well that would complete the choke of the well. The BP-leased rig Deepwater Horizon exploded April 20, killing 11 people and setting off a massive oil spill.
Now do you feel better???

Re: East Coast Guys, be safe!

I'll be heading to Cape Cod either tomorrow morning or afternoon, pretty much when it is going to be moving in.

The Mach will be staying home in the garage. Should be pretty interesting on the water.

I'm just trying to get home. Currently stuck in O'hare. Traveling this week has sucked. 5 hours worth of delays on Monday and 6 hours so far today.

Better safe than sorry I suppose, Bill. Remember Katrina?

Everyone has over reacted on this one so far, but it's better than having tumbs up their butts.

Re: East Coast Guys, be safe!

Nothing happening in NYC! Not taking any chances though, the mach is staying put in the garage in my building. Last time I drove a mustang I ended up in 2 feet of water and that was the end of my red mach! **** Nor'Easter last year!!!

No, I got the point. I think you are making mountains out of mole hills.

Regardless if he over stepped his bounds or not it is better to take prevanative measures then react to a disaster, all things considered.

Re: East Coast Guys, be safe!

It's simply a case of "one-upmanship".

He doesn't want to be undeservedly looked upon like Bush did after Katrina (even though this storm is a pansy in comparison).
