So it begins again (well sort of)

Stopped at McDonalds for dinner and the guy at the drive-thru window asked if the Mach was one of the new Mustangs with the 5.0. He didn't believe me when I told him the car is an 04. He said it looked new.

Long story short now I have to tell people it has neither of the 5.0s.

Re: So it begins again (well sort of)

pshhh, i went to a McDonalds in town about a month ago to get a sweet tea and the girl at the drive through started seriously asking me if i could give her a ride when she got off work. i kinda giggled and she asked, "what, you think i'm too fat?", which, she was huge and hideous. I busted out laughing and drove off. haven't been back to that McDonalds since.

Re: So it begins again (well sort of)

Took mine to get inspected and the inspector/tire changer insisted I was low on power steering fluid ( he was hearing the procharger ). Even turned the steering wheel back and forth and said "see, it gets louder when I do this". When he popped the hood he looked right at the head unit and said " or it might be your a/c compressor". Got my sticker and laughed all the way home.

We got that alot in different places when the '05 came out. People thought the Mach was the NEW Mustang. We said no, and they were surprised it wasn't. It was fun while it lasted.

This is why I love our Mach 1's. 9 years later and people still don't know anything about them.

I'm glad I almost never get asked about my Mach. People just say it's loud and that's about it. Fine with me.

Re: So it begins again (well sort of)

I attended a show last weekend and parked next to a 04 Cobra. I had lots of people pass right by him to get to me. LOL Even had a couple come up and said this Mustang must really fly. I replied yes right over that Cobra and no Supercharger needed..
I guess looking at the Mach with the shaker setup really looks MEAN.

Re: So it begins again (well sort of)

Had someone ask me at a car show who makes my hood and what the shaker was. Once I replied it was factory from ford he informed me how little I know about my car. I learned it had to be aftermarket because ford never made anything like our hoods and shaker.

Re: So it begins again (well sort of)

I had one guy tell me the mach was just a GT with a shaker hood scoop.

Instead of educating him on the differences I just told him to google it.

Re: So it begins again (well sort of)

I ran into an old Cruise-in-buddy yesterday at our local cruise in. The first time I met him the Mach was brand new. He had a fox at that time and just could not stop talking about the Mach back then.

He just picked up a new 5.0gt with the brembo's and the 3.73, nav, etc. Pretty much everything. We walked over and looked at his, talked about it and then walked back to the Mach and spent more time with my Mach... :-)

So...here was a guy with the new 5.0 who still looks at the Mach with great admiration...

GOTTA love that. his car by the way was freakin' sweet...

This! I love that feeling. I work at an auto parts store and had a guy driving a GT500 pull in to admire my car. Made my day.

Noone really asks me about my Mach, but the only time Ive had anything said to me was when it was in the shop getting repaired, the shop owner had the receponist ask if I wanted to sell it.

Re: So it begins again (well sort of)

the most common is that its a GT with the nice factory add ons, also had a guy say basically the same thing that it look like it was brand new off the factory lot a couple years back and couldn't be a 2004 model
