Wagner thermo quiet pads broken? - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

this is the second time i look at the pads on my car and the one on the passenger side front has a broken pad. broken as in the little round circular clamp thing coming off and causing a grinding sound. would this be a manufacturer defect? faulty caliper? i have done the front brakes a million times, i used to use the raysbestos until murrays aut parts stopped carrying them and now this happens

I have run thermo quiets for years without any issues.

Could be a defective set

Defective pads.

I would get a different set of pads. Motorcraft ones are good if you dont like much brake dust or upgrade to Hawk HPS if you dont mind a little more brake dust that usual.

In this case, you get what you pay for.

I've got the Thermoquiet pads on my car as well. First set I installed, the round clip broke off during installation. I replaced them and they are doing fine. As for "getting what you pay for," the Wagner TQ pads are $100 just like the Hawk.
