Door wont close completely

Any ideas about this gap (pic below) that's as far as it'll shut. The door is aligned/flush everywhere except what you see in the pic, from the latch up to about halfway up the window. I can push the door in slightly, but not completely it's not really loose at all. It still latches twice.

The striker hasn't moved and doesn't seem to be adjustable. I'm starting to think it must be something with the latch in the door. It's confusing to me that it latches twice still but has the gap. Is the latch adjustable or replaceable?

Re: Door wont close completely

I had a similar problem on my 97' and replaced my latch assembly and it fixed it. I got mine from Latemodel restoration supply. I think it was like $35 with shipping.

Re: Door wont close completely

I guess replace the latch assembly like JDWmustangs said... I actually haven't got around to fixing mine. I hate having to tear apart interior stuff, and I couldn't find a latch assembly for our years - didn't look too hard yet though.

Re: Door wont close completely

Mine is doing this on the passenger side. Have to roll the window down and close the door.

Re: Door wont close completely

Well I actually figured out what my problem is... Kind of strange and hard to explain... But the 2 sections of door shells actually came apart a little. My door is pretty much messed up.
