Replacement Steering Rack Compatibility?
I've been driving around on a leaking rack for a while now and decided its time to replace it. I want to do so as cheaply as possible and was wondering what other model Mustangs have the same steering racks. There are tons of V6 racks on eBay for cheap. Will this work?

Re: Replacement Steering Rack Compatibility?
Any of them will phsyically fit. But they all have different valving and feel.
You really should stick with what the car came with, which is the GT/Mach rack. The V6 has a looser feel, especially at hi speeds. If you can afford it, the 03-04 Cobra rack is the best you will be able to find. It is tighter. IMO, the Motorcraft are the best reman units, Cardone are 2nd best. Dont forget to buy 2 new teflon washers to install it, or it will still leak. Dont reuse the old ones.
