rear end vibration
noticed i have vibration and some noise coming from the rear end. lets say i get the car up to 70-75 then let off the gas you can feel some vibration, just for a sec or two. anyone know what might cause it. differential angle? unbalanced wheel? gears??? only happens above 70ish

Re: rear end vibration
i just replaced the lower control arms 2 weeks ago and even if it did lower the car a bit more( was already lowered 2") everything was fine, didnt notice anything. as soon as i put 2 new nittos 555r in the back i started feeling it. had the wheels rebalanced yesterday and its still doing it. get her up to 60 and when you let go of the gas, vibration coming from the rear...anyone gotta clue???

Re: rear end vibration
Could be tons of things but my first guess is your 4.10s. Were they installed by somebody who knew what they were doing? Did they order the install kit or just re-use the bearings and racers? If so they did not do the gears right you may be in for some serious hurt pretty soon. Might wanna check that out.

Re: rear end vibration
the gears have been in for 2+ years now and altho they have started to whine, ive never had a problem with them. ill get the wheels rebalanced. when i lest the tire shop, the weights fell off within a block on both wheels. had the rebalanced by my mecanic but maybe he didnt do it right...i only want weights on the inner lip of the wheel, none glued to the wheels, think that might affect someting?

Absolutely. To properly balance whe wheel you must balance both the inner and outer lips on the rim. There is nothing wrong with stick on weights. Ive been using them for years.

Re: rear end vibration
Sounds more like a drive line vibe by how you describe it coming on when letting off the gas. Back lash might have loosened up and that's also why you are getting a whine from the gears.
If its tire related, increase speeds and the vibe should get stronger and stronger, regardless of when you are on or off the gas.

Re: rear end vibration
I'll try properly balancing the wheels 1st as im sure you can't adjust backlash without going in the differential.we'll see what it does.

Re: rear end vibration
had the wheels rebalanced today and the vibration is still there. im really starting to think that its my pinion angle thats causing itthe car is now lowered more than 2 inches. i need some new uca since one is busted, so ill get some adjustable and see if that fixes things
