311/308, dynojet, with the tune.

Tell your tuner to email you the run file from the dyno graph.

Re: dyno tuning guesses

really that low even with the cams? i thought they were like a 10-20whp given. how much do you think midlengths would benefit

Re: dyno tuning guesses

Honestly with those cams I'm expecting horsepower to be higher than torque not the other way around like everyone else listed..

I guessed hp higher than torque. Here is what mine made with 90mm MAF, 3" RAI, Offroad Prochamber, Borla Catback, 4.10 gears, E70 tune (doesn't really help since it didn't pick up more power with a lot of timing), and ported throttlebody.

They give you 20hp peak exactly, and shift peak hp from 5,000 rpms to about 6,000rpms. If your still on stock gears maybe you'll dyno a little higher than my guess. But I think you'll need headers (go with the 1 3/4", and 3" midpipe) to make over 320, and a shortrunner intake to make more than 330.

Re: dyno tuning guesses

There aren't any 4.6 dohc headers you can install without removing the stock K member.

Arh, stainless works, kooks for 3" collector or get mac, bbk, pacesetter for cheap. You're dropping the k regardless.

Re: dyno tuning guesses

I would classify as a poor bastard too lol. I went with some flowtech headers I picked up used. Headers, midpipe, gasket, for $300 shipped.

Used parts, sales, and off brand parts have built my car on a low budget.

Re: dyno tuning guesses

i have pacesetters and new they were 282 on ebay, everybody criticizes these headers but they r performing quite well and rumor is on dyno these headers r the best to get the most hp due to diameter size on the tubes

Re: dyno tuning guesses

I gained about 13 at the wheels with my bassani midlegnths and o/r x. Install is a PITA. They do tuck up good though. Bassani claims you can remove the tranny with them still in place. You can't...unless you do a few minor modifications during install. I just replaced my clutch and learned this, but next time I will have no problem. If buying new I would definately skip them and get longtubes. I got a fairly decent deal on mine used, so I would shop used.

Re: dyno tuning guesses

If your switching from stock manifolds and a stock midpipe; to long tubes and an off road x pipe, I wouldn't expect anything more than 12hp-20hp.

Long tubes and o/r x pipe in red, stock manifolds and o/r prochamber in green.

Only other change was that I switched from 4.10 gears to 4.56 gears. Tuner was guessing a 5% loss on the dyno due to the gears, which sounds about right.

That would put me at 329/317. So that nets a gain of about 15hp/9tq. That might be a little generous, If it was 4%, that would put me at 326/314 (gain of 12hp/3tq)

Judging by the shape of the graph, the LT really help it breathe up top. Since the gap between the two curves really narrows down after 5,300rpms.
