Abs control module
I'm sure this has been asked before but I didn't find what I was looking for in the search. My ABS and traction control light stay on and neither works when their on so I'm pretty sure its the control module. Question is how much are they what's the cheapest place to get a new one, and does the computer have to be programmed to accept the new one. And a part number would be helpful. Is the modular valve separate from the control module. Thanks for any info.

Re: Abs control module
if the abs has any issues the traction control goes off.
It could be as simple as a dirty or faulty sensor, Id get it checked with an ABS code scanner (standard code scanner wont do it) and get a better idea before going that route as a new one isnt cheap

Re: Abs control module
if the abs light is on, it wont work at all...if one sensor goes out, it shuts the whole thing down. Do you mean it will not communicate with a scanner thats meant to read ABS codes? If so then ya, the abs unit is very possible. If you search someone had listed a place that would repair them
The sensors can get crud built up on them over time, this can cause them to stop reading or a sensor can be bad. itd be worth your time to check into the sensors before going through the time/trouble to replace the computer

Re: Abs control module
Check the wires behind the wheel up front. If your car is lowered enough and you taking crazy U-turn your front wheels could rub the fender cover and the wire behind it in half. Ask me how I know

Re: Abs control module
first of, check the abs wheel sensors and connections to see if damaged or dirty. . .next, both abs pump and module are connected together so check if any damaged to connections. . .if not, then its the internal of the abs module only and not the pump. . .buy a used one (COBRA marking) because a new one needs calibrating from the dealer. . .you can remove the module from the pump while attached to vehicle then install used module back on. . .check out youtube video on how to do it. . .I installed a used module on my mach just recently and it works perfectly now. . .you can do it just have some patient and bit of time, any questions just let me know, gl man

Re: Abs control module
there was some place with a site where you could either buy one of theirs or send yours in to be repaired (or buy a repaired one, send yours in as a core, something like that) I know its been covered somewhere before

Re: Abs control module
the problem with our abs module and in most cars is the internal wiring thats soldered together are substandard and it breaks;hence, it must be taken apart and soldered very well. . .i would not try to do that yourself. . .get one (cobra abs module) from a wrecking yard or ebay and install it yourself. . .thats what i did. . .any question in the install le me know, gl
