Paint issues - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

I purchased my 04 back in 06. It was used with 20k on it. It was my daily driver for years. Recently I have noticed more and more spots on the car where the clear is coming off or gone. It looks like one big spider web. It's all over the hood the trunk and the roof.

To my knowledge the car has never been painted and the car fax is clean.

Do you think this came from sitting out over the years in the sun?

Since I dont drive it much anymore it may be time to get a new paint job.

Just curious if anyone else has had this problem.

I got my front bumper cover painted last week. The paint was cracking not the clear. It was the factory paint but the person that painted it said it was not prepped properly at the factory !

I have some cracking of the paint, and i have runs on the front bumper. If you dont drive it to much, i say get it repainted

If the clear is coming off sounds like a repaint. Clean car fax just means there was no insurance claim on the car. It still could have repair work done in the past

Clearcoat is the first to go. The sun here in CA is really rough on cars. My 02 truck is starting to show issues on the one side that sees the most sun.

haha... Im in ohio.. cars rust and rot before clear can wear away.. haha
