I saw tons of posts about having a "rev your engine in honor of.." day on 12/7. Really?!!!! Anybody remember what we SHOULD be honoring on 12/7? I think people need to step back a bit and put it all into perspective. It was a horrible accident that killed two individuals and left families behind. Feel for the families. Give to his charity. But let's not over-glorify his contributions please. After all, he dated a 16 year old when he was 33!!! That alone will get you NO respect from me.

I'd say this sums it up to a tee. It's about the same as when Kurt Cobain killed himself and people were comparing him to John Lennon and all this other crap. Get real.

Oh man, now its on. This dude was just an actor (personally I think it's crazy how we treat celebs like demi gods).

Maybe not John Lennon/Maybe so? Either way Nirvana was influential enough to start a whole genre of music I still have Nevermind on my playlist.

Sped and street raced and killed someone? No.The guy was a pro race car driver. How many times do you think this guy has preached about car safety to people? Or is it do as I say, not as I do? If we crash and burn were considered idiots, but if he does it, it's a different story?

If you guys had millions upon millions of dollars you'd be doing charity stuff and doing things annonymously too. $10K to him was pocket change.

There is a guy on the Fiesta Faction forum that attended the memorial event at the crash site and he took pics and posted, thought I would share here at the Registry (He is a photographer by trade as well)

I agree, this happens to people everyday and we hear nothing about it. Yes, he was a good guy with his charity work and donations, but ****. People are treating his death like he was a family member or close friend. What about the guy driving the car? You hear nothing about him even though he too died in the crash.

I don't know about that, the only thing I can think of that the franchise added to the racing scene was "NAWZ."

Re: RIP Paul Walker

I had the opportunity to meet Walker and spend some time with him at Buttonwillow Raceway in 2010, at a Redline Time Attack race. He was a true gentleman, and not at all a stuck-up celebrity. He was really passionate about cars, and he treated car enthusiasts like me as kindred spirits. Sure, he was no McQueen, but he really was one of "us".

I feel bad anytime a car guy gets killed. Sometimes it may be their fault ,sometimes not.Furthermore some celebs act like asses and get away with it , Justin B. being one. But like him or not... google Paul Walkers name and find one article that bad mouths him ...I found none. RIP !

Re: RIP Paul Walker

I thing the whole celebrity worship thing is nonsense and a joke but this kid at least seemed to be a down to earth car guy just like any of us given the info that's out there. I've heard nothing negative about him. Now I'm not saying he was perfect and with his untimely death people might be slow to put bad info out there but i feel that's just not him. I'm the last t o be a celebrity fanboy, trust me.

Anyway, looking at his collection, he was def. a mustang guy, just with deep pockets. gah...RIP Paul Walker.

Re: RIP Paul Walker

I see walker as my generations James dean. Walker was a nice guy, as james wasn't from what people say. Who knows though I never knew either one of them, IMO I would of rather have known walker in person.

Re: RIP Paul Walker

Pretty much what most people already suspected.

Over a hundred mph - seems they were both in pretty bad shape even before the flames got to them - broken ribs and other bones, fractures, etc. Couldn't have gotten out of the car with those kinda injuries.
