Re: ProCharger Install Pics!!
I explained that there is no sure formula of exact boost a certain size pulley will make, tuner has alot to do with that..is that a correct assumption??
Generally, the smaller the pulley number, the higher the boost, I have a 3.85 and made 9 psi, so with a 3.90 you would expect the same..NOW, is there a difference in boost running the same size pulley on a D1 versus P1

Re: ProCharger Install Pics!!
tune has nothing to do with boost unless its a turbo (unless youre running a waste gate with the centri, most people dont though). Pulley size and rpm are the two main factors but of course compression ratio, cams, head work and exhaust can all change boost levels as well

A P1 is a smaller blower that can't push the same volume of air as a larger D1 blower. It is similar to using a small turbo vs a large turbo. I had always heard people say oh 6lbs of boost on a big turbo is like 20lbs of boost on a small turbo. Errr what? Its not quite that simple. The larger turbo/blower is "stronger" and can move a larger volume of air more efficiently. At some point the little turbo/blower is overworking and just doesn't have the strength to push the air through all the piping, intercooler, and into the cylinders before the valves close. Its got to fill everything with enough air to start compressing it to build pressure in the motor. It is working harder so the air gets hotter, and that means less power and air volume. Boost, which just measures restriction, increases because it can't move the volume of air needed to efficiently fill the combustion chamber before it ignites. But, a larger turbo/blower is much stronger, it can fill everything with a lot of air much more efficiently and stay cool. It has the strength to keep the volume of air moving more rapidly, and therefore it can fill the cylinder quickly when there is more space to work with. So, 6lbs of boost made quickly with a big unit when there is a lot of volume to work with in the cylinders can make more power than a small unit struggling to fill the cylinders last minute even if its shows 12lbs of boost. Thats partially why the p1 procharged machs on here all make more boost and less power than the d1 and Vortech guys.

Re: ProCharger Install Pics!!
P1 and D1 are the same size housing, the impeller design is different.

Re: ProCharger Install Pics!!
I guess i should have compared CFM/Volumetric Flow Rate instead of using the terms big and small. But I was trying to make it simple.
