Replacement motor??

If you guys were to blow your motor up tomorrow what would you do for a replacement and where would you get it from? Been throwing around the idea of a built block that I could put my heads on and make all the factory Mach shacker work with. Just planing for the future

Re: Replacement motor??

My bank account is far from bottomless, unlike many. For me I would have to go with the lowest price. Which is rydellpowertrain.com. If your budget is unlimited and you want the most expensive of everything, then perhaps expand your search beyond a forum. Its hard to tell without more info what your budget and idea of preference is. Post more info and others will be able to help you with your goals and budget.

Re: Replacement motor??

If Modular Performance was still around I would pick them for my engine build. Now that I have my turbo kit an engine build is the next step. I'm looking real hard at either L&M Engines or Proline. L&M seems to be great from everything I've read, but Proline is local to me and of course builds awesome engines too.
Other strong options are Livernois and BES.

Re: Replacement motor??

I would cry for a while, order new parts, take it to insane power for machine work and put another motor together.

oh wait I already did that this year. btw dont run diamond pistons with .035 quench, they will shrink then rock in the bores and hit the heads.

Isn't the coyote motor swap fairly complex and requires many new components to fully work in the mach 1? Or is it a fairly straightforward swap?

there are swap kits out there but its somewhat involved...the coyote control pack, power steering (its electronic on the coyote) and things like that but there are swap specific headers and things like that. I dont think its the most difficult thing in the world and sounds like at this point it doesnt require fab work.

I had MPR Racing engines rebuild mine.

Keep in mind that if theres many miles on the heads you would probably wanna freshen them up too - exhaust seats, new valve guides etc...

Been thinking about using these guys but trying to get some more info about them. Apparently there was another shop with this name in Va and they were terrible. I just want a reputable builder that is going to stand behind they work.
