window won't roll down, window repair
my passenger window stoped working last week, won't roll down from both driver and passenger controll so i figured its the window motor inside the door pannel. . .in order to fix it you need to remove the motor off the regulator by removing three screws and unplugging the switch. . .mine was still good just dirty and probably stuck in up position for so long. . .when removed clean it and regrease then attach it externally to check if it works to the up and down controll. . .if it works then motor is good and reinstall back to regulator. . .if it doesn't come on externally then the motor needs to be replaced, bout $80 on ebay, gl

Re: window won't roll down, window repair
This is a common problem (from what I've read), with our cars. Almost always happens after it rains or from washing the car. The easy way to prevent this is to NOT roll the window up all the way! What I do is Max it out (up), then one or two quick "down" clicks! Haven't had this problem in over 3 years!

mine was when it was hot and not been used for a while. . .also maybe i catch myself double clinking on the button before to make sure its closed all the way. . .won't do that anymore. . .i will try your way though with the two down clicks, so far its working great

Re: window won't roll down, window repair
It usually happens in warm weather.
The window will work at night when it is cool outside, then when daylight and heat hits it, window inop.

Re: window won't roll down, window repair
My driver side window always gets stuck up on a hot day if rolled up ALL the way.
The new problem is that I had not rolled the passenger side down in 6+ months and when I did, it got in a bind and was uneven. I stopped immediately, and when I rolled it back up, something went "klunk" in the window and fell to the bottom of the door. The window is up now and I'm afraid to roll it down. Any idea what fell off? |
