Hi,
We've just signed on the dotted line yesterday for our Mach 1. It has a build date of Feb. 17th. In preperation for it's arrival we have started researching some anti theft systems. We had a 1990 5.0 LX notchback for 10 years. We use to show it in some local shows and it was in great condition for a 10 year old with 240,000 KM's on it. All we had for a security system was an ignition kill switch. It took some theifs 5 minutes to get in and by-pass the system and then another 45 minutes to loose control and right it off. So, we are concerned with Mach being such a unique car that it might be targeted. I have spoken to one dealer so far and they recomend the "Boomerang2" tracking system and a "Viper 300 ESP" for the noise maker. Does anyone have any experience with these systems or something similar? Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

Hello Mach4Me,
Another company that makes security systems is Clifford. I own a 1998 Explorer Sport 2 door and had a Clifford Solaris remote start/security system installed shortly after purchase. I've been extremely satisfied with the performance of this system during the last 4 years. When I get my Mach 1, it will definitely be protected by a Clifford system. It's important to note that Clifford systems are more expensive than do-it-yourself or low-cost anti-theft systems, but I believe the features and protection they provide are worth the additional cost. To learn more, you can check out Clifford's web site here: http://www.clifford.com/products/index.html
