Re: For all you pet lovers out there - we need your thoughts and prayers

As a "senior" member of the forum who has fostered and rescued countless dogs over the years, I share a lot of the pain that is experienced with the loss of a pet. We humans are the caretakers of the animal world and you will be surprised how you can bounce right back into another wonderful pet. I've lost a lot of animals and still have great memories of all of them.

Take care....go rescue one that doesn't have a good life until you bring it home.

Re: For all you pet lovers out there - we need your thoughts and prayers

Pets really do become a part of the family. I posted this a while back on another website. It's a very true story. Wish I had a digital camera to take pics. Anyhow, we had to have our 14 year old Shih-tsu named Skittles put to sleep (heart problems) back on April 17th, 2003. I took it pretty hard. A couple of weeks after this sad event, my wife come home from work and told me I had to go in the garage and look at the license plate on her car. I walked out and looked. Our license plate number on Pat's car was 417 SKT. Talk about spooky!! We currently have 3 dogs...2 Shih-tsus and 1 Pekinese. All 3 are family members.

Sorry to hear about him passing away. I know he meant a lot to both of you. He's in a better place now.

Talk to y'all tomorrow.

Condolences and prayers to you and your family. Buster was so lucky to have a loving family like yours.

How about saying a pray for world peace instead of over a dog, it will do about the same amount of good.

In Memory of Buster

Thanks everyone for your thoughts, prayers and support and for all stories that you shared. You'll never know how much your words meant to me and my husband.

Here is the last picture we took of our baby.

Why would you have to choose one? are you too lazy to say two prayers? I will say a couple for you. That seemed to me just a tad inappropriate. I will say your prayer for Lisaz28's baby for you.

I agree...makes 2 of us. One great thing about the Mach 1 Registry is the sense of community we all share in car interest, social comments, and for some, the kinship of pets. Those that don't agree can express their opinions or use common sense and not post an inappropriate reply. I've met some of the nicest folks here on the forums and in person at the 40th in Nashville. I wouldn't even consider posting an inappropriate reply to a subject as sensitive as this.

May a German shepherd bite you in the nether regions. Some dog is very lucky not to have you for an owner. If you're not sympathetic, that's fine (your problem, but fine), but there's no need to be rude - you didn't have to post a reply. Guten nacht Herr NuMach!

I fall into that category too.

All my many Samoyeds have been rescues. Samoyeds that others didn't want anymore, but I found to be loyal, friendly, and loving members of my family.

I have lost all but one so far, from everything from simply old age, to cancer. It doesn't ever get easy.

My last remaining Samoyed is 15 going on 16. For Samoyeds, that is quite old. I know he will not be with me much longer.

Each one of them was very special to me, and each in their own way.
