Anyone try or hear of results of Hoosier drag radials?
How do they compare with the MT DR is mainly what I'm wondering comparing same sizes. Any news on them? Thanks.

Re: Anyone try or hear of results of Hoosier drag radials?
I asked that a bit ago and got zero responses. lol I know one Cobra owner who used the Hoosiers and he said they were awesome but did not last for nothing. If you look at the tread pattern it reminds you of a MT bias ply "et street." The one thing I like about them is that they are "white lettered" Reminds me of the old Polyglass Raised White Letter Firestones back in the day! I am sure a few remember those!
Another benefit about these is that they are a non-directional tire/tread pattern so you could hide the lettering if you liked and also when rotating them would be easier and cost effective, so longevity could come in to play at the track. Yes you can rotate the BFG's and the Nittos and the MT's but you need to take them off the rim to do that or run them backwards against the tread. I am seriously looking into these to try out. Good luck. http://www.mach1registry.org/forums/...hlight=hoosier Last edited by gfong; 01-26-2006 at 10:42 AM. |

Re: Anyone try or hear of results of Hoosier drag radials?
I was talking with a couple of reps from Hoosier a couple of weeks ago and asked them about thier drag radials. They couldn't tell me anything about them. All they knew is that the company made a drag radial. From a picture in their catalog, it looks like a slick with two grooves in them. (Not slits, like the MT streets.)

They only have 2 groves running around the tire and they do not have any side groves for water to run out like 100 % of tires you can use on the road. I am seriously thinking of getting these but I think they would be terrible for street use. Their site warns not to use them on the street, but call it a street radial. I still do not know how they hook though. |

Hoosier Tire Canada 117-119 Cushman Road St Catherines, Ontario Canada I was at the Autorama car show in Toronto on Friday and Hoosier had their booth set up. I spoke to the guy and I really liked how the tires looked and heard some good things about them. I decided to give them a try. We will see how it goes. |
