Water parks... That's one thing I still don't get about Phoenix. One of the hottest places in the country and we don't even have a top 10 water park. The parks here really aren't that good, and you figure they would be because of the extended season they could have.

Not that big on basketball, baseball is my sport.

Re: Where Should I Move To

Well since you are used to driving your car year around, I'm sure Ohio is out of the question. The roads are usually salted from around Thanksgiving through mid-March. I keep the miles down a little not driving it 4-5 months of the year. In the good ole rust belt.
I'd probably like Arizona. The desert heat would get old...nah.

it's been hot lately here in Oahu, HI. Not to mention, the road here is terrible including the freeway, lots of patch up roads.

My wife is from Oregon, and she desires to head back in that direction. We have tossed around Colorado, and are planning a trip there sometime this summer to look around.

Where else should we look? Don't wanna go back east, don't wanna go to California (due to emissions). What are some nice areas with good air for the mach? Who likes where they are and would recommend it to others?
Denver area is nice, excellent weather, lots of stuff to do, but the traffic is getting stupid. Mile High NHRA Nationals at Bandimere this month!

Re: Where Should I Move To

The city I grew up in came in at #87. Only two in Washington that I saw. Redmond is expensive as hell because Microsoft is headquartered there, and Bainbridge Island I'm sure is expensive too.

Re: Where Should I Move To

I've been to 40 states (I think) and spent a couple weeks in Oregon and really liked it. If weather is your concern, the dry heat in Vegas and Arizona seemed like nothing compared to the humidity around the Mississippi River. It is worse on the coasts and Texas I know, but it was just nasty today. WA and OR are real nice, but I wouldn't want to live too close to the big cities there I don't think.

Good luck.

Re: Where Should I Move To

I'm from Wis. Great scenery but we have winter and the 3rd highest tax state in the country. We travel alot and have seen most of the country and Arkansas would be our choice. Very cheap property taxes and I think no state income tax. I pay 4 times in property taxes then I would for the same house in Arkansas. They have a high sales tax because of that.
