Re: So, what's new with dual-beam HID conversions?
Update.
Well, they are bright, no two ways about that. I do not recommend firing one off while staring at it. There's probably no need to ask me how I know this. So, first of all, the little white spot thingy that actually illuminates is about the same size as the filament on a halogen lamp. Problem is, it's not in the same location, axially. It's maybe 3/16 of an inch off, which will probably throw off the focus of the lamp. I did the old garage door test though, and the cut-off on low seems to be about the same as the halogen lamps. So, it might be all right. There's a relay / logic box on these kits; it's the black box in the picture with a zillion wires running into it. Unfortunately, mine is bad, and it's not operating the solenoids on the lamps. So, I left the harness in and sent the seller an email like, "Hey, it's bad, send me another box, OK?" We'll see how this works out. BTW, there's a great hollow passage just inside the bumper cover that's a great conduit to run wires from one headlight to the other. Now, back to your regularly scheduled program .
