Still searching for new tires
I still looking for new tires, but I now have a new question. Over the past week, I have managed to scraped two of my wheels down a curb. I need to know what size tire I need to look for to give myself a little protection between the wheel and curb. I dont want ungodly bulge, just a little. I still have the stock 17/8's
Thanks

Re: Still searching for new tires
The Goodyear F1 DSG3s have a lip guard on them to help a little with curb jobs. If you got these tires then I would get 245/45/17 fronts 275/40/17 rears. They are both the same height.
I got 2 AFS Mach1 17X9 inch rims for the rear so my combo is 255/45/17 fronts and 285/40/17 rears. I love the stance and the width of the rears is killer. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Eagle+F1+GS-D3

Re: Still searching for new tires
The 285s in the rear are a prefect fit for our cars. Fills out the wheel well and nice and wide from behind. The perfect tire for the street and shows.

Re: Still searching for new tires
A 255X45X17 tire is widest tire near our correct diameter approved by most tire manufacturers for 17X8 wheel. Also go high enough up the line to get one with the rubber protective strip...called by different names.

Re: Still searching for new tires
what about these? They seem to have rim protection. And cheap too!

Re: Still searching for new tires
I put Toyo Proxes 4 on my car. They have the lip guard and are a great tire for the price, $118. I stuck with the factory size so I could rotate them for the best wear. My car is all stock, except for the tires and export taillight. You can get them here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyo-...mZ160062988943
Good luck to you. |
