Re: shakers?
My original header setup was JBA 1-3/4 midlengths with MRT Hi Flow catted H. I hated the lack of clearance between the headers and frame and on top of that, installing or removing those headers was virtual torture. So, when I pulled my motor in '05 for the cams and forged internals I sold those JBA's and then went with Mac longtubes and an offroad prochamber. I liked it, liked the sound with one exception and that being a somewhat "tinney, metalic" sound under accelleration. I attribute it to the resonance of the long tubes. Of course I could deal with that but I had that MRT H that I could not sell and I hated to alter it. Then JBA came out with a 1-5/8 version so I decided to go back to that setup and still use the H. Overall, I'm pleased. Sounds more solid. At the same time I removed my valve covers (royal pain there)and took them to Ponca City to Prizm Powdercoating for a recoat. They didn't do the originals but the results of their work is far superior. Nothing else.............only thing I might be considering is a Mezeire electric water pump and then I will be N/A modded to the max. Besides with the nasty weather we've had I didn't want to drive it.

Re: shakers?
Just curious, has anyone stroked one of these 4.6L engines? Can it even be done with a decent degree of safety and results?

Mine is bored and stroked for 324 ci displacement. A stroker kit can give you 302 ci. I haven't heard of any reliability problems with the strokers. My current problem is my dry sleeves won't let me run more than 18 psi of boost reliably--should have ordered the wet sleeve shortblock . Kevin

Re: shakers?
LOL We live and learn. 324 sounds good enough from 281. Just curious as to what I can expect if I ever get into the mod mood. Did I tell you I will be an economic nessisity texan too in June? Just like you, I are an OKIE and that will not change, but I gotta work a few more years so I will be moving to Houston in June. Oh well.
Thanks for the 411 on the stroker kit.

Re: shakers?
I'll get some pics up after I've "personalized" it. I've got a ram air hood coming along with some other dress-up goodies. So far I've been able to avoid ordering performance mods but a pulley kit sure is tempting. Hmmm, maybe a pillar pod with a decent boost gauge instead of the small one in the instrument panel .
Kevin Edit: Ignore this pic. The one in the post below will enlarge when you click on it.

Re: shakers?
I like it. It looks sharp. Especially the front facia/grille.
