Re: MARK VIII!! how fast r these
We have a local car that runs in the mid 11's. It has full exhaust on a 5L stroker and is sprayed. Tranny and gear is like the car in the link below.
I saw this mkvIII destroy this big mouth guy in a highly mod'd evo. I think they were wrong for doing it but the evo was racing a vette from a light. The mk passed them both well before they had gone a 1/4 mile. He has a ton of money in it and except for the saleen wheels and the sound, it's hard to tell it's not just another Lincoln. http://www.dragtimes.com/Lincoln-Mar...slip-6865.html

Re: MARK VIII!! how fast r these
A stock Mark VIII is no slouch, but it is still a Lincoln.
Basically a 96-98 Cobra motor with an Auto in a heavy MN-12 Tbird.

Re: MARK VIII!! how fast r these
A '95 Mark VIII LSC was my daily driver until I got my '03 Mach 1. Mine weighed 4200 lbs with driver and full tank of gas but turned 14.6's at 97 mph + thru the quarter. Mods were minimum but with a Superchip it raised the top speed to 155 mph which I hit a couple of times.
I used to embarrass a lot of Mustangs and Camaro’s ten years ago when I’d take it to the strip. That 4.6 32-valve motor was one of the primary reasons I knew I had to have a new Mach 1 when they first came out. The link below has some pic’s of the mods and time slips: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/258112/1 :

Re: MARK VIII!! how fast r these
From the factory, if my old memory is working, they had 280 HP. With the weight disadvantage, a stock one is no match for a Mach 1.

Re: MARK VIII!! how fast r these
I had a 98 Mark VIII LSC that I purchased new. This was the final year for that model. IMO, the best vehicle Lincoln has produced since that time. Not a slouch by any means, however no match for a Mach 1.

Re: MARK VIII!! how fast r these
Thanks, the 93-98 Lincoln Mark VIII series were truly great cars with outstanding performance. I've always been a Mustang guy but I did enjoy driving the Mark VIII for a few years. I also had a Fox body LX5.0 Mustang at the same time. The Mark was like a 4000 pound Cobra with automatic only it rode better (LOL).
