Re: Attn: best thoughts and prayers to phil's g/f

Thank you all for the kind words!

She had 18" of her colon/rectum removed and all the lymph nodes connected to that section of colon. We now are waiting for the pathology testing to determine if the lymph nodes have been affected by the cancer.

She is doing good now & should be home on Saturday.

Best of luck to the both of you, Phil. Helped nurse my mother through her bout with breast cancer. She has been good for over 5 years now despite what the doctors told her, so never EVER let this get you guys down.

Here is to a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear that. Cancer is a terrible thing. My wife lost her aunt to Lung cancer in December and she was only 43. Be strong and stay postive, God bless.

Re: Attn: best thoughts and prayers to phil's g/f

Deb has finished her last chemo treatment session and very happy about that!!!! It started Dec 24th & ended Dec 26th. After 6.5 months of 50 hrs of chemo every other week, she is done. She had a total of 600 hrs of chemo I.V. with 2 different type cancer drugs.

Now, we find out in middle of January after all the testing that she is scheduled for, to see if it stopped the spread. 10 out of 22 lymph nodes that were removed back in May, along with 18" of her colon/rectum, were attacked by the cancer.

Re: Attn: best thoughts and prayers to phil's g/f

Glad to hear it`s done Phil. That makes my wifes four hours a week seem like nothing. They do wonders now and we pray they got it all. My wife was told this week she is cancer free. Now just a check up every three months for two years. She still has numbness in her feet and fingers and it may never all go away but at least she is still here. The chemo does wonders but may leave a few side affects. Some of it was the fact she was having chemo weekly plus radiation daily. Both of you hang in there and we wish both of you the best. See you in Sept. Don & Gayle

Re: Attn: best thoughts and prayers to phil's g/f

I'm glad the chemo is over. How is Deb feeling now? I can't imagine all that must go through her head when dealing with this. It has to be scary, depressing... etc. I hope that she's keeping the faith. Prayers & many good wishes to both of you.

Re: Attn: best thoughts and prayers to phil's g/f

Phil, buddy, thanks for the update, and the good news. I know she is relieved that the treatments are over, and I am hoping for the best kind of news in a few weeks. Give her our love and best wishes, and save some for yourself - I know that loved ones suffer in their own way when someone is sick. Congrats on being there for her.
