Question FFW - Ennis (Sept 07-08) 2012

Anyone planning on attending the Fun Ford Weekend at the Texas Motorplex this year? It is suppose to be Fri/Sat (Sept 07-08). I'm planning on attending Saturday for the car show....unless it is 112 degrees (or raining). I had a great time last year. Looks like they changed the class of 1999 - 2004 to include 1994 - 1998 (that's 5 more years and a strange classification).

I snookered a class win in the 99-04 bracket last year. I'm sure 2 or 3 of the Cobras were pi$$ed.

Re: FFW - Ennis (Sept 07-08) 2012

Looks like the weather will be 20 degrees cooler on Saturday. In the 80's instead of the 100's. Might get a few showers as the front rolls thru early Saturday morning.

I remeber one year it showered about 5 times on us!

You get $5.00 off spectator admission by bringing canned goods for the Meals on Wheels.

■Adult/Crew: $15 at the gate ($5 off adult tickets with canned goods donation for senior citizens of Ellis and Johnson Counties served by Meals on Wheels OR a pet food donation for those seniors with companion pets at spectator box office)
■Youth (Age 13-17): $5, Children 12 & under are FREE
■Spectator Parking: $5, Pit Side Spectator Parking: $20 (Gate 10)

Re: FFW - Ennis (Sept 07-08) 2012

Nice to meet Ryan (ryanscobra) today. They attended the Mecum car auction on Friday and made the car show today.

Car attendance was down from last year. Seems like everyone had a 05 - present. All the cars were very nice this year. Only about 25 or so cars in the True Street bracket. The Best of Show was a Ford dually 4x4 that showed up 15 minutes before judging started. @#$% I hate people that do that. No way they could judge his engine compartment as you needed a 10' ladder to just see it.

They had us out in the pit area (no trees or shade) instead of next to the grandstand area. GGRRRRR!

There were only 7 cars in the 99 - 04 class. Two Mach 1s, a Saleen, 3 Cobras, and a 100th Anniversary.

Some pics of my car and Ryan's DSG. Representin' the Registry.

Re: FFW - Ennis (Sept 07-08) 2012

Nice to meet you too Ron. I didn't stay for the awards, but I hope you got one! I think your car should've gotten an award, it was one of the cleanest cars there IMO.

I am a little disappointed on the turn out. I think it would've been so much better if more Ford enthusiasts would have shown up. I don't understand why any Ford lover wouldn't want to go!

Those are all nice cars that you guys have posted, but I think that the Cobra Jet was by far the best car there. But the best Mustang of the weekend was at Mecum, they had the world's lowest milage Boss 429 with only 91 miles, that's insane!
