Tough few days

For those that watch the news and weather, you've probably seen that my part of the world is going through another difficult time. After the Alton Sterling shooting, the assassination of three police officers, and last weekends shut down of the interstate due to an overturned truck, we now have mother nature beating on us. The rains are like nothing I've ever seen, even in hurricanes. Areas are over run with water that have never flooded before. My own situation is not that serious as of now, but everything is in flux. The waters continue to rise and many of my friends are displaced from their homes, have lost cars and other personal items. Anyone with a boat is working with LEOs to evacuate people, helicopters have been constant overhead with rescue and supply missions. People are stranded on the interstates, and have been for hours with no supplies. WalMarts are closed, no one has bread or milk anywhere. My own tire store has three feet of standing water in it.
I have heard that one other member from here, stormin norman, had to evacuate.
My heart goes out to all those affected.
Say a prayer.

Lifting all of you up in prayer hoping the rains will stay away long enough for you all to recover from such a horrible situation.

Re: Tough few days

There are parts of the country that have been in a drought like condition for years and then areas like this get hit with four time the yearly rainfall. Makes no sense, prayers your way.

Re: Tough few days

Thanks much.
Went to my store and it looks awful. Everything has been soak or floated somewhere. We have tires that have floated blocks away...at least the ones we know of. All of the bookkeepers paperwork is a mess, oil and mud cover everything. It looks bad, it smells worse. Long road ahead.

I am ok, I haven't seen my house. Unfortunately I was unable to get the Mach 1 out. I'm expecting a total loss there. I hope insurance pays out!

Have a plan, and a back up plan. If they say go, GO! No one ever expected any of this.

Re: Tough few days

Hope you are all right now John and things have settled down somewhat. weather everywhere is more extreme, we have had 2 months of almost solid rain, parts of our lifestyle block have flooded beyond anything I have seen in last 9 years. Finally last few days we have had no rain. Those chemtrails in the sky are playing havoc with weather now as well, there is a lot of science around it. Anyways keep safe brother.

Re: Tough few days

It is official. My 7900 mile comp orange mach is a total loss due to the
flooding in Louisiana. It's minor compared to the damage to my home.
But it's still pretty sad.

Man that sucks. Would anything be salvageable if you bought it back from the insurance company?

Really sorry to hear about the Mach and your house. I hope things get better for you and your family in the coming months of restoration.

Re: Tough few days

Sorry to hear it Norman. I hope that things get straightened out for you soon. So many have lost so very much, each one with a story. I'd say about 50% of the people I've spoken to in the last week have lost something in this insane situation.

Re: Tough few days

and I dont think Id want a flood car back, dont see how that would ever be anything but issues short of gutting it and replacing everything

Re: Tough few days

I even saw some pictures of caskets coming out of the ground. Really a bummer and hoping for the best for everyone out there. Makes me a feel a littler better about my own situation.

Re: Tough few days

The floating caskets are real and happened not far from my shop. Pretty un-nerving. If I get a chance I'll post some shots of my store, that's in it's 2nd week of clean up.
