Just wanted to show some photos of my XM Radio install.
This XM Sportscaster is only $39.88 in most stores.

Here's where i mounted the antenna.

Here is the XM Receiver and Remote Control

Re: My XM Install

Yeah, I debated heavily on where to put it.
The wire goes right underneath that rubber, under the side panel to the door.
Down the door along the sill to the dash. It then runs behind the dash at the steering wheel, to the XM Receiver.

This receiver actually comes with a Car-Kit, but I hated the plastic Receiver mount, so i simply velcroed it to my dash above the vents.

Re: My XM Install

Xm rules. I do not have it in the mach1, but do have the Roady2 in the Sport Trac.

Can you record programming? I am on my second Roady2...Delphi replaced my first one under the warranty.

Re: My XM Install

No, this one is a simply receiver with presets.
Doesn't do any recording. Hence the $39.88 with car-kit.

Re: My XM Install

Nice install.. but I dont understand why everyone keeps complicating the antenna install.

Guys, our trunk lids are fibreglass. Put the XM antenna under it and the reception is still perfect and you'll never see it. Alternatively, put it on the rear dash, fish the antenna wire through those child seat latches. You DONT need to have it on the exterior of your car!~!!!!

Re: My XM Install

Nice job. I don't know what year your Mach is, however for all those with 04 Mach 1s with the SAT button and want XM, I installed the Terk XMDFDK unit on my stock stereo and could not be any happier. It is fully integrated with the stereo, providing titles, station info etc. through the stereo and sounds great. I mounted the antenna on the rear deck inside the car and do not have any reception issues.

Re: My XM Install

I have my antenna on the rear dash of my car and the reception sucks. I really cant even use my xm due to it. makes me want to switch up to the 04 h.u. and get the direct connect.

Re: My XM Install

I have my ant mounted on the top just like StangIT and have had zero problems.

Tried the same idea but kept running into reception problems. Some can get away with it and some can't. For those that can't, the location pictured is one of the best looking spots.
