finally got a new stang

As some of you may know I recently moved from to connecticut to california and had to sell my mach 1 because there was no way for me to get it registered in cali because it would never pass smog. So I have been looking for a new car since august and finally purchased this 06 roush stage 1 a couple days ago. Its not a mach 1 but at least Im back in a stang again. Now I need to get some mods

Re: finally got a new stang

too bad you had to sell the Mach, but at least you replaced it with another stang.

Re: finally got a new stang

So what's that thing have for H.P? Does it feel fast like the Mach? I find the SN197's don't feel fast but only because of the flat torque curve and better suspension/build quality. They feel 'under control' unlike my Mach that you have to hang on with both hands cause it feels like a wild animal (like my wife says)almost out of control. Mach's (to me) are way more fun to drive. What do U think comparison wise?

Its hard for me to remember what the mach 1 felt like when it was stock but I think its pretty comparable to that. I think the mach had a little more on top and the 3 valve power curve is a little more broad. The suspension and handling is alot better. As far as fun to drive I think both cars have there advantages, the mach is more of an in your face, drag type, muscle car and the roush is more of an all around sports car. Good handling, broad consistent acceleration and gives the driver a planted feel. Thats why I am planning on modding this car with suspension and handling first then getting into HP mods. Where the mach I just went for power and didnt care to much about handling.

Also curious are out of state autos permitted to drive in California with after market exhaust?

Nice stang none the less.

It never actually failed the smog test. But I new cali smog was real strict and that my car would have to go through it so I called a couple performance shops out here and they said they may be able to tune it for the proccharger but the cams would have been a problem. Also b/c it was an out of state vehicle it has to go through an inspection and it they saw the procharger it would have been more problems. I didnt want to ship it all the way out here and be stuck with a car I couldnt even sell out here.

Not sure on the exhaust question

Re: finally got a new stang

Very nice Roush! What part of Cali? The Northern, Central, or Southern?

Oh yeah, welcome to California, where even the STOP signs are "Photo Enforced"...
