what do i need to do to fit draglites front and rear?
a buddy of mine said he runs 15" ranger wheels on his cobra on the rear with no grinding. he runs draglites up front with a spacer, but i'm not sure what size. i want to put draglites all the way around, but don't want to grind my calipers. what are my options? and i don't have the cash for bogarts, and i want to drive it on the street as well. i did a search but didn't find much

Re: what do i need to do to fit draglites front and rear?
you'll need something like this for the front
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WHEEL...em120240553356 or these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WHEEL...em120240555523 the 1" thick ones will require you to grind some of the length off the stock studs(about 3/8" or so) the 1 1/4" ones just need the unthreaded part taken off of each stud

Re: what do i need to do to fit draglites front and rear?
thanks for the info. can i use the studs that come with the spacer, or should i re-use the stock studs. why will i have to grind down the studs? and what will i have to do to get the rear to fit, i've read you need to file down the bleeder screw. what size wheels fit best? i want 15x3.5 up front and 15x8, maybe 15x10 out back

Re: what do i need to do to fit draglites front and rear?
i went ahead and installed 3" long aftermarket studs in my spacers
most front runner wheels are thicker than the stock wheels in the bolt hole area and the longer studs help give you a full thread engagement through the full width of the wheel, instead of using longer lugs to make up the difference from long and short studs IIRC NHRA requires at least one full diameter of stud length protruding thorugh the wheels, for saftey reasons, depending on how strict the tech inspections at your track this might not be an issue, but it's rather cheap insurance, they have a reason for the rule you need to trim the length of the stock studs because they are a little longer than the spacers are thick, if you don't they interfer with the wheel fitting properly i've seen stock 15" wheels fit with no issues on the rear, and i've seen aftemarket wheels have problems with clearance between the head of banjo bolt or the outside corner of the caliper, some can be adressed with a small amount of grinding in the proper area(banjo blot head, or corner of the caliper) or by using a 3/8"~1/2" spacer on the rear wheels as far as which wheel fits best, that's a call only you can make, prostars and draglites are very popular, and will require some clearancing in places, i think also unless you get a 7"bs wheel the 15x10s might stick out too much i run some older centerline auto/drags i had on my '69 mustang 15x8.5 (4 7/8" bs) on rear, no clerance problems with wheels or tires (275/50/15 dr) 15x3.5 front runner up front with 1 1/4' spacers and 165/15 thse didn't cost me a thing(in this decade ) so all i was out were the tires plus i like the old school look

thanks a lot for the info!! i think i'm gonna go ahead and get a set of the summit brand star wheels, they are way cheaper than the welds.
