Re: R.I.P. Michael Crichton
WOW... I had no Idea. He was a briliant author. I could read any of his books cover to cover in a couple of days.

Re: R.I.P. Michael Crichton
Wow, I'm right in the middle of reading his book called "Next". About 200 pages in so far, great read.
RIP Michael. What a shame, he was a great writer (he wrote Jurassic Park).

Re: R.I.P. Michael Crichton
I have read most of his books too. Some of them twice! Really fond of his older stuff. The movie "the Thirteenth Warrior" was based on "Eaters of the Dead". Great Viking movie! I still have a 1975 copy of "The Great Train Robbery".
Some of his science (fiction) was truly cutting edge.

Re: R.I.P. Michael Crichton
Did you know that he was also a critic of MMGW (man made global warming)?

Re: R.I.P. Michael Crichton
To be precise, he was a critic of spending billions of dollars before all the facts were compiled. He felt both sides were going off half cocked. And that entire industries were using fear tactics to further their agendas. His book, "State of Fear" illustrated this position.

Re: R.I.P. Michael Crichton
RIP. Crichton was one of my favorite authors. Some of his books on my shelf no longer have covers because they're so worn from countless re-reads.
Oh, and for fans, he actually finished one last novel before he died, which will be published in May of next year. I can't wait to read it. Last edited by Tetsu; 11-07-2008 at 02:15 AM. |
