6rib with an F1a?

Is it possible to run a 6rib with an f1a? Reason I ask is im looking at getting an F1 after my P1 has taken a crap. And I have a $450 OD IW crank pulley that i dont really wanna get rid of. I was Making 14lbs with it and a 3.4" pulley on my P1, and If i could use a 3.4 on the f1a it would make more boost, and hopefully not slip on a 6rib. Then later I can convert to a 8rib setup and go smaller on the blower pulley.

I'd be pulling all my resources to buy an F1a and an 8rib conversion at the moment would not be possible...that and I have to have my car together for mustangs vs the world 2.

Any one have any input?

Thanks!
Chris

Re: 6rib with an F1a?

You can try that f1a will make 20psi plus with that pulley on there, My friends f1a mach with 8 rib and 4.15 pulley makes 15psi. It it will slip its *** off with that 6 rib prob

Re: 6rib with an F1a?

I can always go bigger, with a 4.0 RR pulley. Honestly 20lbs would be fine. I have supporting mods.

Re: 6rib with an F1a?

Honestly,

If you are squawking over a $450 pulley, and scraping your pennies together, don't get the F1... You are not putting the right resources into making it right, and it will cost you in the long run...

Perhaps looking at the D1 instead... You can comfortably make low to mid 500's on the D, and it much more wallet friendly

Not really squawking, just Would not have the funds at the time. I can always sell the 6rib and get an 8rib conversion, or go cog setup. Im in the navy get paid every 2weeks, and I dont make that much money, but I DONT need my car...just if i can help it, i'd like to make this race coming up next month...see where im comming from?

this answer all depends on the power your trying to make....if its around 600 your wasting your money on the f1.....its overkill...

i still make my numbers on a 6rib.....and still get booted from epping every year

Have any more details on your setup?

I will deff keep my power levels south of 800hp range.

Re: 6rib with an F1a?

I'd think you would be fine as long as you dont go to a smaller pulley.

What are you thinking is hard to believe? The only thing I can see is the hp numbers seem a little high. Wouldnt a D1 14 psi car with h/c only maybe make 550 max? Unless you had a lot more cubes anyway, which me might. not sure.

Re: 6rib with an F1a?

ebay 200 buck shipped...sweeeeet deal def helps get the most out of a 6rib....and from all my tests i could never get anything smaller than a 3.8 not to slip at 7k......with some grinding you may be able to fit an even bigger version of the o/d innovators crank pully...

as far as linemup i saw him at a track a ways back running against a blue mach1 at MIR i believe they call it...i dont know what was done to the blue mach1...lol but he(blue) didnt loose

i'm running a vortech and wanting to make more boost. I'm thinking the crank pulley would be my best next choice.

im very happy with mine....getting a bigger crank vs smaller blower pulley will help with the slip problems too....what vortech are you running...? also i did one of the accufab t/bs that seemed to make a decent differance in the hp range as well...
