Enough Time has Gone By

Enough time has gone by, to find out how well our Mach1s are doing since '03. Is everybody still happy with theirs? Is the reliabilty going well? I hope everybodies is. Our '04 has 63,000 and so far no complaints. I hope everyone else is doing fine also..... I REALLY would like to know, which '03-'04 Mach1 has the highest mileage!!

Re: Enough Time has Gone By

Bought my babied Mach 1 used with just over 8,000 miles about 7 weeks ago and have pushed it to within 12 miles of 10,000. Car rides tight and feels great. Looks and drives like a new car.

Re: Enough Time has Gone By

Nearly 7 years, and 51,000 miles and smooth sailing all the way. Issues that have come up were not of the cars doing, and my decision not to mod the car may have contributed to its continuing reliability.

I know that's the exeption, not the rule. Has to be, or there would be no Mach1s or even the Mach1 Registry if that was the case.

Of course, that is likley the case. Play with Mods and sometimes you get BURNED. Of course the Mach1 is already RARE, and fast with PRESTIGE to boot. Keep it 'REAL'. So far my wifes '04 Mach1 has the highest miles on the ticker. I know somebody has more miles on their Mach out there.

Re: Enough Time has Gone By

At 32k I spun a rod bearing last October...now she's back and even better as of late May, with the support of the wife. She's making close to 360rwhp/330rwtq N/A with mods in sig. Also a couple more things in the future are planned. There's not a day that goes by where I don't have a big cheesy grin when think about or drive the car.

I don't have any big plans to mod the car. So far, I am very happy with it "as is". I like the way it looks (a lot) and find it rare enough in my area anyway.

Re: Enough Time has Gone By

Bought my car used with 12k miles on it from a dealer, who told me the original owner traded it in for a Shelby GT lol don't know why though. His loss is my gain. I've had the Mach for over 2 years now, has 34k on it and still running strong.

Re: Enough Time has Gone By

Well, I've had mine since day one and no real problems for a daily driver with 60,000 miles.

If I HAD to make any complaints ... the paint, the only warranty work done so far and it's just about run out anyways (6 year/75K). The paint on the hood chipped and had to be repainted, the drivers side window doesn't want to roll down on hot days when it's sat all day in the sun.

My only real mods were a K&N CAI when I first got it, and since replaced with a C&L unit. It's always been my daily driver, very compy on trips, and great gas mileage both around town and trips.

It's the best Mustang I've ever owned going back to 1970.

I'm happy to hear that. Wish we bought ours NEW. The window is puzzeling though. Hope it was a warranty REPAINT on the hood.

I am so glad that previous owners decided to get something else and get rid of their Mach 1s. I'm also glad so many of them saw fit to baby and keep our future purchases in such good shape...just for us.
3 cheers for them.

Reved it too high I suppose coupled with some negligence on my part with oil running a little low . I can't really pinpoint it but I remember wringing it out pretty good in 3rd one time, letting off the throttle then hitting it again, seemed to buck pretty hard, I think that's what did it but can't tell for sure. Didn't notice anything at first but it developed some rod knock over time and that was it. Oh well ya live and learn, I'm just glad to have it back. Plus it's like having a new car all over again that's even stronger.

Re: Enough Time has Gone By

Umm, my car had 42k miles and with full bolt ons and blower and ran great, but pulled it to stick in forged motor.

Wifes has 74k miles and runs great with minimal mods. Bought used with 60k miles and bone stock.

Only complaints would be the pestering drivers side window and cheap paint on my car's hood and the 3650. Other than that they have been awesome cars for me.
