I noticed more of a gas smell when driving my friends Cobra with a o/r h vs mine with a carted prochamber but that could as be that I had the top down vs just windows

Once it cools down it will go back down. My Mach 1 never did this but my Cobra does it all the time. Its random when it does it, as on a hot day it will not roll down but on a day that is hotter then...
